RealCycler CMVH allows the detection of cytomegalovirus (CMV) DNA in clinical samples. Cytomegalovirus is a virus from the Herpesviridae family that can cause a range of clinical conditions. It is primarily transmitted through bodily fluids such as saliva, urine, blood, and breast milk. CMV infection can be asymptomatic or present with mild symptoms in healthy individuals, but in immunocompromised patients or during congenital infection, it can lead to severe complications, including organ damage and developmental disorders
