RealCycler PJIR allows the detection of Pneumocystis jirovecii DNA in clinical samples. Pneumocystis jirovecii is an opportunistic fungus that causes pneumonia in individuals with weakened immune systems, such as those with HIV. Symptoms include fever, dyspnea and dry cough.
