RealCycler TOSC allows the detection of Toscana Virus RNA in clinical samples. Toscana Virus is an arbovirus transmitted by sandflies (mosquito-like insects). A high percentage of cases of meningoencephalitis of unknown causes in young men from humid areas of southern Europe are caused by this virus. Early diagnosis is essential for a correct management of the disease.
