RealCycler TPHD allows the detection of Treponema pallidum and Haemophilus ducreyi DNA in clinical samples. Treponema pallidum is the bacterium responsible for syphilis, a sexually transmitted infection that progresses through multiple stages and can cause ulcers, skin rashes, and in advanced cases, affect internal organs. Haemophilus ducreyi is the causative agent of chancroid, an infection characterized by painful genital ulcers and inguinal lymphadenopathy.
Early detection is key to proper clinical management, enabling targeted treatment and the prevention of complications.
